GSAA News: GSAA 35th/20th Reunion Good and Bad

The GSAA held its 35th/20th Anniversary Celebration on schedule, but not as planned. Extremely poor attendence caused us to cancel the events with Governor Hunt and DPI Secretary Ward. In fact, despite sending out nearly 16,000 invitations, less than 100 alumni showed up to participate. The dinner was very quiet, and the dance was cancelled completely.

However, all was not lost. The GSAA Annual Meeting was the best, most producive that we have had in years. (Perhaps the shock of the poor turnout galvanized some people into action.) A lot happend (read the related article) and it looks as though alumni activity will be picking up in the coming years. Our hope is to make the reunion a better, more interesting even every year. And we now have coordination with the GSW faculty to make this happen.
