| Welcome to the official page of The Governor's
School of North Carolina Foundation. The Foundation is a non-profit organization with the
purpose of raising awareness and additional funding for the Governor's School of North
Carolina. For detailed information on GS, take a look here.
The GS Foundation was formed by the GS Alumni Association in 1990. At that time, it became apparant that the state funding for GS was no longer able to support the mission of the School. Rather than let this important educational opportunity fade away, the alumni formed the Foundation to help continue the work of the Governor's School through contributions to the School's general fund, and by providing funds for extracurricular educational opportunities. The GS Foundation Board of Trustees is made up of seven individuals: a President, a Vice President, a Treasurer, the President of the GSAA, and three other GS Alumni-at-large. The Trustees direct the activities of the Foundation. |
